0% Balance Transfer

The credit card market is extremely competitive, and as a way of attracting new customers to choose their card credit card providers offer a low or 0% interest introductory rate on balance transfers. This allows consumers with money owing on a credit card or store card to transfer their balance to a new card.
Many credit card companies give consumers 0% interest on any balance transfers for a set period. Depending on the credit card provider, this can be between three months and a year. After the introductory period ends, the credit card provider will charge their APR on any balance transfers made.
Some credit card providers apply a balance transfer fee and a handling fee, usually calculated as a percentage of the balance that you wish to transfer, so stay aware of this if you are intending to transfer money. For consumers simply using their credit card for the 0% interest and chasing this type of offer from provider to provider, making purchases may accrue standard APR charges.
