Make every purchase inc(red)ible with American Express Red Card
American Express are trying to make a difference, with the American Express RED card. Every quarter, we will transfer 1 per cent of all of your eligible spend up to the limit of £5,000 to the Global Fund. The Global Fund finances programs in Africa that positively impact on the lives of women and children who have been affected by HIV and AIDS. When you reach £5,000 in a year, REDmoney rate increases to 1.25 per cent on all spend over this threshold. If you spend on the card within the first month of receiving it, we’ll transfer an extra £5 to the Global Fund. That way, you make a difference for no extra personal expense.
The Global Fund is the world’s leading funding body for programs to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. It was created in 2002 as a public-private partnership to combat these three diseases, and it enables countries to design and execute their own culturally sensitive programs. The overhead costs are less then 3 per cent, meaning resources go straight to the areas in which they are needed.
The American Express RED card also offers some dynamic extras. For instance, once every three months one lucky cardholder receives a REDpass, allowing him or her to do something extraordinary. We also offer REDextras and REDdeals, giving you handpicked offers and events. You can expect access to gigs, sporting events, shopping deals and travel offers.
American Express RED card: good for the people of Africa, good for consumers and good for business. Giving people a tangible, ongoing means of involvement in delivering change to Africa.
