Cashback credit cards seem to come and go in terms of popularity and fashion. A few years ago, the credit card market was awash with them, and yet most deals now fall beneath the 0.5 per cent bracket.
Capital One have now announced the release of a new credit card that offers 4 per cent cashback over the first three month period, followed by 1 per cent thereafter. Abbey have launched a similarly good deal, even offering 5 per cent on all supermarket cashback.
Although the credit card deals do come with restrictions (for instance, the supermarket offer only runs for a short period, is limited to £1000, and the card must be used at participating supermarkets such as Asda, Co-op, Tesco , Waitrose and others.)
The Abbey offer is available to both new and existing credit card account customers.
