Financial services provider HSBC has unveiled details of two new 0% credit card deals that aim to meet the disparate needs of telephone and online banking customers.
The first 0% credit card, which features 4.9 per cent interest on balance transfers, is open to applications from telephone banking and branch customers.
Meanwhile, the second deal is open solely to virtual banking registrants and features zero per cent interest on balance transfers for the first 12 months, alongside a transfer fee of 2.5 per cent.
Both credit cards incorporate lending rates of 15.9 per cent annual equivalent rate.
Spencer May, head of consumer cards at the financial services provider, explained the reason for launching two credit cards.
"We have seen a clear difference between the needs of our branch and online customers, particularly in relation to introductory offers," he said.
"With this knowledge, we have tailored our two new offers to meet their differing needs."
Recently, the Times reported that a new pay-by-mobile credit card service is being introduced in the UK that would enable shoppers to use phones to buy goods more easily.
