Credit card caution advised

Fri, 08 Feb 2008

According to a credit card expert reported in the news this week, UK consumers should take care to be safe when using their credit cards, with fraud rampant throughout the country, particularly in large cities.

The CPP, a support and protection company for credit cards, carried out a survey that checked credit card fraud levels in a number of cities throughout the UK. The company advised consumers to keep cards in a safe place, and reporting a card as soon as it is lost or stolen.

A security expert at CPP, Danny Harrison, reportedly commented: "These fraudsters are always looking for an easy target. When you are shopping on the high street, you need to take that extra bit of care."

According to the study, London was the hardest hit place in the country for credit card fraud.
