New credit card will interest travellers

Tue, 27 May 2008

American Express, a major global credit card provider, will launch a new credit card this week aimed squarely at those consumers who travel often.

The Blue Sky Card will join the established range of American Express credit cards, rewarding cardholders with special points every time they make purchases relating to travel .

The credit card company will provide a point per pound spent on travel using their credit card, including flights, holidays and accommodation . Those customers who reach 4,000 points will be given a reward of £50 off travel items.

American Express made it clear that the number of points per card was unlimited, and dates for purchases were not being set. The Vice President of UK Credit Cards at American Express, Tom Allder, was reported in the news as commenting:

"We are expecting this Card to appeal to leisure travellers who are not only looking to get best value for their travel expenditure but also want added safeguards to ensure their journey is a smooth one."
