Cancer Research UK are this month celebrating the 20th anniversary of their credit card partnership with HBOS .
Together with Halifax and Bank of Scotland (despite their recent takeover by Lloyds TSB), Cancer Research UK credit card has raised over £12 million to try and beat cancer.
The Cancer Research UK credit card provides an exclusive 0 per cent on both balance transfers and purchases for nine months, and has more users than any other credit card scheme of its type.
HBOS make a one-off £20 donation to Cancer Research UK the first time a new customer uses their credit card . Paul Farthing of Cancer Research UK reportedly commented: "Our partnership with HBOS has been hugely successful. The money raised in the past twenty years has played a vital role in helping us fund the charity's research into the causes and treatments of all forms of cancer . For example, £12 million is equivalent to running more than 13 laboratories at the charity's prestigious London Research Institute (LRI) for one year."
