Wed, 18 Feb 2009

Nationwide Building Society has won the Most Responsible Credit Card Lending Practices award for the second year running.

The firm picked up the title at The Card Awards, held earlier this month.

Jeremy Wood, divisional director at Nationwide, explained that the win shows that the firm is committed to both responsible credit card lending and offering good products.

"To win this award for the second year running is a fantastic achievement for the society and reflects our ongoing approach to responsible lending," the credit card expert said.

Credit card providers should make sure their products are fair and transparent, he added.

Yesterday, Michelle Whiteman, corporate communications officer at payment association Apacs, stated that a new box introduced on marketing material will make it easier for people to compare the details and features of different credit cards .

They will also help boost transparent and responsible lending in the credit card market, the expert added.
