Fri, 26 Jun 2009

Virgin Credit Card is trying to help holidaymakers save this summer when they use this product to make travel-related purchases, it has been revealed.

In an advertising feature in the Guardian, the credit card company says that travellers may find they could go abroad for a cheaper price if they take advantage of the benefits the provider is offering.

Those who sign up for a Virgin Credit Card will be able to use a discount when buying travel insurance from the company, which operates in several sectors of the finance market .

Credit card holders will be offered ten per cent off the price of travel insurance .

Furthermore, those using their credit card will benefit from a discounted price when buying a Virgin holiday in any of its international destinations.

"With destinations as diverse as St Lucia, Hong Kong, Cape Town, Orlando, Sydney and Dubai, no corner of the globe is left uncharted so you're sure to find a break that ticks all the right boxes," the company advises in its article.

Earlier this month, consumer watchdog Which? urged credit card companies to honour the legal obligation they have to consumers under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act .

The act makes it a legal requirement for credit card companies to cover the purchase of goods between £100 and £30,000.
