American Express

American Express – otherwise known as Amex – is a provider of a whole range of cards. As well as credit cards, these include charge cards (where you must clear the balance in full every month), reward cards (that allow you to collect rewards, such Airmiles or points that can be redeemed at certain hotels and restaurants) and cashback cards (that pay you back a percentage of what you spend on the card).

Amex Premium cards come with exclusive benefits such as a concierge service and 'preferred seating' in theatres, music and film events. 

Amex cards may require you to earn over a certain income and/or spend a minimum amount on the card each month to qualify. Some Amex cards, particularly charge cards, also come with an annual fee.

However, they're not accepted in as many places as MasterCard and Visa.
