Lloyds Banking Groupwas previously known as Lloyds TSB Group before changing its name in January 2009 following the acquisition of HBOS.
It is the largest retail bank in the UK and claims that one in three people bank with it. Lloyds TSB and Halifax are Lloyds Banking Group's main brands in England and Wales, while Bank of Scotland is the main brand in Scotland.
The bank's portfolio also includes mortgage provider Cheltenham & Gloucester, life assurance firm Scottish Widows, as well as pensions, investments and longer-term financial planning solutions provider Clerical Medical
It issues a range of credit cards, including reward cards and those offering balance transfer deals through its brands.
